SNOW!!!
Today we broke the record for the most snowfall in southeastern MI.

More snow!
It just doesn't seem right to have snow in spring...

The new fallen snow makes a great canvas for my shoes covering my toes.

Hello folks! Squirrel here!

Guess who was here!

The glistening snow after the sun beat down on it.
Molly gets some credit for spotting this photo op... maybe 12%. (Avengers quote). Anyway, after the sun beat down on this snow it re-froze.

Photo shoot at 10:30:
The ice on the ivy growing around our garage.

Cool effect made with a slow shutter speed.

Phil, the Afro snowman...
This is a LEGO snowman I made a few years ago. Molly found Phil very interesting and had some thoughts:
"This is Phil. He is a snowman with an afro. As you can probably tell, he is made of LEGOs, not Tinkertoy. I found him quite delightful to the eyes (or should I say the lens??). Anyway, he is posted in honor of Brad, the youth pastor with an afro, who we saw today. It was a delightful day."
~Molly, typing what she thinks Max is thinking at this very moment.

Snow on the deck.
More snow!!!!

1/8/2014

My boots saw a great deal of snow today.
After the below-zero temperatures yesterday (not counting the wind-chill), today seemed like a heatwave. We finally got outside to sled with the new snow.

The leaf blower
Today we blew off the trees in the driveway with the leaf blower. We had to do this because the weight of the snow can damage the trees. On the way in, I saw squirrel tracks on one of the trees...

After that, we took down the Christmas tree:
The star for our Christmas tree

The bushes in our backyard.
The world is covered in a blanket of snow.

we went to Grandma's house today

Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandmothers's house we go;
the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow. MORE >>

Molly drove us to Grandma's house to celebrate Christmas with the rest of the family!

The fountain at the Detroit airport
Happy Christmas Eve!

We flew home today from Florida. We were met with 20° weather (feels like 8°), an awesome fountain, and SNOW! The jump we built in the side yard before we left is still there (despite the temperature). There's no place like home for the Holidays!

12/18/2013

We turned the stairs from our deck into a sledding hill!
It made an awesome hill, and at the bottom we made a really tall jump!

12/17/2013

We had fun sledding and playing in the snow today!
We had friends over and went sledding!

12/15/2013

You begin to appreciate the warmth of your home after being outside in the snow and wind for 2 hours...
Maybe tomorrow we'll sled!

Our dog likes the snow!
She seems surprised every year when it snows.

12/8/2013

The snow made a cool background for this photo.
I thought this was kinda a cool photo.

11/12/2013

Snow is still here!
We still have a bit of snow outside...

SNOW!!!!!!!!
It's been awhile since we had snow... finally we got a light dusting!
